Ineos are looking at using their multi-club model to the benefit of both Manchester United and Nice.
After Ineos‘ investment in Manchester United, the Red Devils finally have a multi-club model which can work to their advantage.
This enable United to utilise Nice, or Lausanne, as a feeder team, or a base for younger players to be loaned out to, for the purpose of gaining experience.
It will also enable United to sign younger non-UK players under 18, and loan them out. United signed Alejandro Garnacho when he was only 16, but this would be blocked now, under Brexit rules introduced in late 2020. Ineos’ model provide a workaround.
Ineos plan to utilise advantages
Earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano reported via YouTube how Ineos are determined to use Manchester United’s new connections with Nice and Lausanne to their advantage.
This won’t be a one-way street. Nice are expected to benefit just as much as United, as the Red Devils will be able to spend more, because the club generates more money.
It means several prospects who aren’t quite ready for a regular spot at Old Trafford could find themselves playing in the south of France, playing for a team which is battling for a Champions League spot in Ligue 1. It’s a plan which could be win-win for all concerned.
Amad could be ideal for Nice
Ineos don’t actually have to spend a penny to start putting this plan into action. They have player sitting around at Manchester United who is perfect for Nice.
Amad Diallo would flourish with a loan spell at the Ligue 1 side. He once again finds himself on the fringes at Manchester United.
He missed the first half of the season with injury, but since returning in late December, he is yet to start a game in 2024, and has only three substitute appearances.
Amad is a talent, he scored 16 goals on loan at Sunderland last season, but this was not quite enough to tip him over the edge to become a first team regular.
A move to Ligue 1 might be the intermediate stepping stone Amad needs, to establish himself at United later down the line.
Still only 21, United shouldn’t be giving up on the former Atalanta talent. The team paid £19 million for him under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. This could rise with add-ons, but these have not been activated yet.
Amad could be useful for Nice. Intriguingly, Sir Dave Brailsford is a fan of the winger, attempting to sign him on loan from United two years ago, before being knocked back by John Murtough, The Athletic reported.
This time around, with Amad still in need of another loan, Brailsford is in a position to influence decisions, and this one could work out for all parties.
