Manchester United loanee Amad has earnt the respect of the Sunderland dressing room through his performances, says Black Cats manager Tony Mowbray.
The 20-year-old continued his purple patch in front of goal by opening the scoring in last night’s Championship clash against West Bromwich Albion at the Stadium of Light.
After being fouled inside the penalty area, the four-time Ivory Coast international sent the Baggies keeper the wrong way and slotted the spot kick into the bottom corner.
It was the former Atalanta wonderkid’s fifth Championship goal in seven matches, and he’s scored in his last three games.

Amad’s penalty against West Brom moved him level with Ellis Simms and Ross Stewart as Sunderland’s top scorer.
After slowly being integrated into the Sunderland starting line-up, the young Ivorian is arguably in the best form of his burgeoning career.
According to Mowbray, Amad’s influential performances have resulted in him earning the respect of his Black Cats teammates and after initially keeping himself to himself after making the move up north, he’s becoming more and more integrated into the group.
Speaking after last night’s 2-1 defeat, Mowbray told Sky Sports: “Very talented boy – he’s integrated into the group, his personality was introvert really when he first arrived, quiet lad who kept himself to himself, but he feels the respect of the rest of the group now and he’s earnt that with his performance level and work rate, as well as his talent.
“He’ll be disappointed to be on the losing side because he was a threat all evening.”
As a result of his impressive run of form, United and Sunderland’s number 16 was nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for November.
This was the second Player of the Month prize for which the forward was nominated, after he was shortlisted for the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ POTM award for the Championship.
