Crysencio Summerville has emerged as a transfer target for Man Utd this summer, and he’s done the impossible at this World Cup.

The Netherlands’ World Cup campaign ended in a brutal fashion, with Noussair Mazraoui’s Morocco eliminating them on penalties.

However, it is through no fault of Crysencio Summerville, who was his country’s brightest threat throughout the tournament.

Now that the campaign is finished, it can be safely said that the West Ham star has managed to do the impossible in a span of just four games.

Crysencio Summerville explodes at the World Cup

Summerville has always been marked as an exciting player to watch, but his end product has left a lot to be desired.

In these four World Cup games, with the spotlight on him due to Man Utd transfer links, he has risen to the occasion.

He finished the tournament with four goal involvements in four games, and more importantly, looked like a threat throughout.

He had defenders on skates, created chances at will, and popped up with the goods when the Netherlands needed him the most in true talismanic fashion.

He’s taken a huge leap when the scrutiny was the highest, which speaks volumes about his mentality as well.

This is the same player who West Ham were quoting £50m for after a campaign which saw him score five and assist two in 31 games.

After just four games at the World Cup, Summerville has done the impossible. He’s making that £50m tag look like a potential bargain.

Man Utd must explore Summerville bargain

United will have done their work behind the scenes, so they will have a better picture of the player, but Summerville’s ceiling is exciting.

He had all the raw tools to be an attacking menace, and he has started to put them together at this World Cup in spectacular fashion.

If £50m is the starting point of negotiations for him, then it is worth exploring a deal for him, because United would be getting an exciting player who’s on the rise, who also flourishes under pressure.

With Matheus Cunha loving life as Brazil’s striker, United can buy Summerville for the left, and use Cunha as an option for both LW and ST.

Even Summerville is versatile and plays across the front line, allowing for Carrick to have tactical flexibility.

Summerville has done the impossible. The £50m price tag is looking like a bargain, and Man Utd will have noticed it.
