Bruno Fernandes has just had a record-breaking season at Man Utd, but he’s used it to send a chilling warning to Ineos.
Generally, if a player breaks the Premier League assist record (which this writer predicted!), he will cut a beaming figure after immortalising himself in the record books.
Despite what Roy Keane thinks, Bruno Fernandes is not one for chasing personal glory, and he has just proved it again, albeit with a chilling warning.
His ‘not quite as expected’ verdict on his time at Old Trafford so far should perk up Ineos’ ears.

Where does Bruno Fernandes rank among Man Utd greats after his INCREDIBLE 2025/26 campaign?
Fernandes has won every individual award possible so far, is he a club legend? If not, what does he need to do to earn this tag? 🏆
Bruno Fernandes’ brutally honest Man Utd verdict
It’s an open secret that despite putting in one of his best seasons in a Man Utd shirt, Fernandes isn’t entirely a fan of the owners.
He made as much clear in an explosive interview last year when he accused them of lacking courage about telling him to leave when Saudi Arabia made a massive bid for him.
Nothing since then has been quite as direct, but he hasn’t missed any opportunity to hammer home his ambition, challenging United to match it.
The next episode of “Fernandes challenges United to step up” has arrived, as he has said that his time at United hasn’t gone quite as he expected so far.
He said: “Obviously, I wanted to have won more; it wasn’t quite what I had expected for myself and for the club. But I had very good times. We managed to reach some finals, some of them we won, others we didn’t.
“But my goal has always been to win the biggest competitions, and the Premier League is part of it. And I still have that dream in me, and I hope to achieve it.”
Fernandes’ comments are a clear message to Ineos
Fernandes has made that clear in the comments above that he harbours dreams of winning the biggest honours, regardless of the individual accolades.

Who are you most excited to watch?
He huffed and puffed to keep the club relevant under Ruben Amorim, and flew under Carrick, whom he championed for the job.
For far too long, he has been the player who kept a dysfunctional team competent, instead of driving a competent team to greatness.
Now that United look like they’re close to the promised land, he wants the club to show ambition and strike while the iron is hot.
The clock is ticking on Fernandes’ career, and he has already given his best to the club. Now, it’s time for the club to pay him back by going all-in.
