Benjamin Sesko has painted an eye-opening picture of the huge change that has happened at Manchester United amid an up-and-down season for the Red Devils.

Manchester United fans have felt a rollercoaster of emotions since the 2025-26 Premier League season kicked off under the reign of Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils experienced an erratic run of form under former United manager Ruben Amorim before the 41-year-old Portuguese coach’s exit from the Red Devils.

Amorim was sacked as Man Utd head coach last month and the rippling effect initially cast a wave of uncertainty about how the Red Devils’ season would play out.

However, United have been fortunate to enjoy a major ‘manager bounce’ under Michael Carrick, who was installed as interim head coach until the end of the season.

Benjamin Sesko’s experience in his debut Man Utd season spotlights one important thing that has emerged under Michael Carrick

Benjamin Sesko has had a mixed start to life at Old Trafford since Manchester United agreed a deal worth £73.7m to bring him to England from RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old Slovenian striker has found the back of the net seven times and registered one assist in 23 matches across all competitions this season.

Sesko has faced a tall order of quickly settling into life in England and becoming United’s much-needed prolific goalscoring machine in the 2025-26 campaign.

However, the Slovenia international has seen a boost in his confidence in the final third under Michael Carrick, despite being dropped to the bench in recent weeks.

Speaking on United’s official podcast, Sesko insisted that United fans were seeing the dressing room influence of different personalities creeping out onto the pitch.

“There [are] a couple of guys, definitely,” he said on Inside Carrington, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“I think it’s just more or less everyone. Obviously, they do it in different ways, but we always try to find a way to do it as a group, together.

“I think that’s why you can also see it on the pitch.”

Sesko’s lack of consistency in the final third meant that the former RB Leipzig striker would be targeted with criticism, especially after the amount United spent on him.

However, United legend Carrick has been able to shield the Red Devils summer signing and provide Sesko with time to integrate himself further into the squad.

Sesko only appears to be growing in confidence as each match passes under Carrick – and the same could be said of other United first-team players as well.

The collective unity that is holding the Red Devils together has been shining on the pitch and United have looked like a far better unit under Carrick’s interim reign.
