Ruben Amorim has suffered his first defeat as Manchester United head coach after losing 2-0 to Arsenal.
Set pieces proved to be the difference at The Emirates with Arsenal scoring twice from corners via Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.
Manchester United went toe-to-toe with the Gunners but came up short with two lapses of concentration.

Ruben Amorim warned United fans before the match that a “storm will come” at some point during his tenure as his players continue to learn and adapt to his 3-4-3 system.
Overall, it was a disappointing evening for United who have now extended the poor record against Arsenal, especially away from home.

Mason Mount struggled for Man United vs Arsenal
Amorim raised eyebrows when he made six changes to the United side that beat Everton 4-0 on the weekend.
Before kick-off, Amorim explained why Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte started in midfield, with the Portuguese wanting his side to control possession.
He also made changes to the front three with Mason Mount returning to the starting lineup on the right flank of Rasmus Hojlund.
However, he struggled to have an impact on the game and was dragged off in the second half having taken only 15 touches of the ball – the lowest of any United player.
| Minutes played | 59 |
| Touches | 15 |
| Accurate passes | 91% (10/11) |
| Duels won | 25% (1/4) |
| Tackles | 0 |
| Interceptions | 0 |
It was a fairly toothless performance from United, but Mount struggled more than anyone to get involved.
Offensively, he only completed 10 passes while his pressing was not effective with zero tackles or interceptions.
What Ruben Amorim has said about Mason Mount
Since his arrival at United, Amorim has been full of praise for Mount.
Ahead of the Everton match, Amorim hailed Mount’s “intensity”, but it was severely lacking against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

He has struggled since joining United from Chelsea, but Mount has thrived in a 3-4-3 system at Chelsea so there was hope he could reinvent himself under Amorim.
It is far too early to rule that out, but Mount will need to improve on the performance he put in at The Emirates.
