One question that has already been answered is what formation Amorim plans to use. United will line up in a 3-4-3 system that brought Amorim bucket-loads of success in Portugal.
There will be as many as six United players pushing to start up front in Amorim’s system, but the Portuguese head coach has hinted that Mason Mount could play a key role.

Ruben Amorim is in love with Mason Mount
Amorim has had very little time to work with United’s squad after work visa issues meant he couldn’t hold training until Monday.
Even then, a large portion of United’s squad was still away on international duty. But one of the more senior players left at Carrington was Mount, who has struggled at United since his £55m move from Chelsea.
However, Amorim was heard praising Mount in training and United’s new head coach seems to have taken a liking to the 25-year-old.
Ineos believe Mount can “thrive” under Amorim and so far the signs are all positive.
Amorim admitted he “loves” Mount and his attitude in training, which could put him in line to start against Ipswich on Sunday afternoon.
Mason Mount has thrived in a 3-4-3 formation
Another factor going in Mount’s favour is that he is already familiar with the 3-4-3 formation that Amorim plans to use at United.
During his time at Chelsea, Mount played in a 3-4-3 formation under Thomas Tuchel where he starred in the No.10 role to the right of a central striker. That is where Amorim can unleash the best version of Mount this weekend.
A glance at Mount’s career statistics showed he played his best football in a 3-4-3 formation with 19 goals and 19 assists in 87 appearances under Tuchel at Chelsea.
In contrast, he scored one and assisted once in 25 appearances under Erik ten Hag.

It seems Amorim knows how to get the best out of Mount, with the United boss saying the No.7 is “perfect” for his system.
Mount has even scored a hat-trick when playing on the right of a 3-4-3 formation. He scored three for Chelsea in that position against Norwich during a 7-0 win.
