Manchester United will find out the team’s opponents in the FA Cup third round tonight when the draw is made.

Last season United were drawn against Watford in the third round, a game the team won 1-0 at Old Trafford thanks to a Scott McTominay headed goal.

When does the draw take place?

The FA Cup draw will be held tonight (6/12) at 7pm. 64 teams are in the draw for the third round, with Premier League and Championship teams entering the competition.

What number are Manchester United in the FA Cup draw?

Manchester United are ball number 26.

Look out for non-league teams Kidderminster Harriers (59), Boreham Wood or St Alban’s City (58). Liverpool are 23 and Manchester City are 25. Current holders Leicester City are number 22.

How to watch the draw live

The FA Cup draw will be shown live on ITV in the UK.

The FA Cup YouTube channel is also expected to stream the draw. The FA Cup Twitter and Facebook feeds may also show the draw.

When will the third round matches be played

The third round matches will be played on the weekend of Friday January 7 to Monday January 10. The date of United’s game depends on television coverage.

There are replays for the third and fourth round this year if the game ends in a draw. After that, the ties will be decided on the night.

When was the last time Manchester United won the FA Cup?

Manchester United last won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal at the end of the 2015/16 season, beating Crystal Palace 2-1 after extra time.

United lost the final to Chelsea in 2018 under Jose Mourinho. The team reached the semi-final in 2019/20 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and last year were defeated in the quarter-finals by eventual winners Leicester.
