The brother of Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho dropped a clear-cut verdict on what he saw from the Red Devils during the 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

Manchester United were left to rue their missed first-half chances after largely dominating the Hammers at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Julen Lopetegui’s men rallied back in the second half and stunned United in the 74th minute thanks to an opener from Crysencio Summerville.

Crysencio Summerville’s first-half opener was cancelled out by Casemiro, who turned a header past Lukasz Fabianski only seven minutes later.

However, West Ham sealed all three points against the Red Devils after a controversial VAR call led to a penalty decision going in favour of the Hammers.

Jarrod Bowen stepped up for West Ham and converted from the spot-kick to put Julen Lopetegui’s side 2-1 up in injury time at the London Stadium.

Garnacho’s brother reacts to Man Utd match

Manchester United are now 14th in the Premier League and have only managed three league wins out of nine matches under Erik ten Hag this season.

Alejandro Garnacho played the full 90 minutes against West Ham in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat, including the 12 additional minutes of extra time in the second half.

The 20-year-old Spain-born winger was among the United players who failed to pounce on their clear-cut opportunities in the first half of the match.

Garnacho came close to breaking the deadlock inside the opening five minutes, only to see his curling first-half strike hit the bar at the London Stadium.

The United star’s brother took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and reacted to the Red Devils’ first-half performance against West Ham.

One X account wrote that United’s display was giving “flashbacks” to the Red Devils’ 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in September.

Responding to the tweet, Roberto Garnacho wrote: “Even worse tf [the f**k].”

Ten Hag’s reaction to Man Utd result

United manager Erik ten Hag, who is now under mounting pressure over his side’s run of results, made his feelings clear on the 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

The 54-year-old Dutchman insisted that United failed to capitalise on their chances and slammed the “very poor decision” from the referee and VAR in the match.

“Football is not always the best team winning,” Ten Hag said after the match, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“Today, it’s very obvious and clear. Today, we were far better than the opponent and there are two things: we didn’t score and it was a very poor decision from the referee – on-field and definitely also off-field.”
