Manchester United fans have been left raging with VAR after a controversial late decision in the 2-1 defeat at West Ham United.
Manchester United have suffered defeat once again but Erik ten Hag has reason to feel aggrieved this time around.
United wasted chance after chance after chance in the first half, including Diogo Dalot somehow managing to fire over the bar from an open goal.
West Ham made United pay as former Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring, only for Casemiro to level it up.
United were inching towards a 1-1 draw but the game turned late in the day as a harsh penalty was awarded in West Ham’s favour.
Jarrod Bowen stepped up to score, sending the London Stadium wild and leaving United players absolutely crestfallen.

VAR explain Manchester United decision
United fans just can’t believe what they have seen in East London.
The incident saw Danny Ings and Matthijs de Ligt going for a bouncing ball, colliding in the process.
This was the very definition of a coming together but referee David Coote decided to award the spot kick.
The Premier League Match Centre account on X have now offered insight into VAR’s decision-making for that incident.
It’s stated that VAR recommended an on-field review because there was ‘sufficient contact’ from De Ligt on Ings’ leg.
Coote went over to the screen and overturned his original decision, going along with VAR’s recommendation in the process.
Another frustrating VAR call for Manchester United
This feels like another VAR call which has gone against United and played a key part in a defeat.
Bruno Fernandes was given a straight red card against Tottenham Hotspur with VAR supporting the referee’s ‘serious foul play’ call.
That red card ended up being rescinded, so United were made to pay for an error by the VAR team.
One unfortunate decision which went against United came against Brighton and Hove Albion in August.
Alejandro Garnacho’s goal was ruled out as it struck an offside Joshua Zirkzee on the line just before the Seagulls won the game.
That decision was, frustratingly, correct but United are again left to rue the input of VAR – and this one is the most contentious of all with De Ligt barely touching Ings inside the penalty area.
