Manchester United could salvage their season if they bring the Europa League trophy back to Old Trafford.
A 4-1 win over Athletic Club on Thursday evening means Manchester United can look forward to the Europa League final later this month.
United have been hugely disappointing in the Premier League so winning the Europa League is the only way to save the season.
The Red Devils will return to Bilbao for the final on May 21st, where they will face Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Ruben Amorim’s Man United demand for Europa League final
In the final, Ruben Amorim will come up against Ange Postecoglou – another manager who has been heavily scrutinised this season.
Looking to get his first win over the Tottenham boss, Amorim told TNT Sports how his United side can win the final in Bilbao.
“First of all, you have to think in terms of odds, it’s hard for a club to lose four times in a row so we can think that way,” Amorim said.
“We have to have a full squad, that is really important. Then we have to study the game quite well, and then we need to have a bit of luck.
“Today, you felt we suffered a goal but we had so many transitions to score a goal and we didn’t score. We have to be clinical in that game.”

Tottenham sit just below the Red Devils in the Premier League table, but they will head to Spain knowing they have already beaten United three times this season.

The latest meeting between the two clubs saw Spurs beat United 1-0 in the Premier League – Amorim was also unable to better Postecoglou when the North London side won 4-3 in the Carabao Cup.

Now Amorim will have to look for his first win over Tottenham in what will be his first European final as a manager.
Amorim was furious at United players for the mistakes they made against Tottenham, but he will be the first to admit that his side are improving.
