Raphael Varane has offered praise for three of his new Manchester United teammates.
In an interview with TV2, he said he hopes France teammate Paul Pogba remains at Old Trafford beyond the end of his current contract, which expires in the summer.
Another Red Devil Varane has already played alongside is Cristiano Ronaldo, and the defender hailed CR7 as ‘exceptional’.
Varane also lifted the lid on his burgeoning partnership with Harry Maguire at the heart of the United defence.

“It was important for me to hear his opinions and thoughts about the club, the team and their ambitions,” said Varane of Pogba. It is his decision, but of course I hope he stays here for a long time.
“He is a fantastic player, so I undoubtedly hope that he stays.” On Ronaldo, he added: “He is an exceptional player and I am very happy that he came here. He’s nice to have in the squad. He is better than he has ever been.
“You know he will score many goals.” There were also words on his partnership with Maguire, who he called ‘a top player’.
“We are still working to get to know each other better. We try to talk to each other so that we can understand each other better, and in that way coordinate our movements and our positioning.”

Could Varane get Pogba to stay?
Ultimately, Pogba will make his own decision, but what the arrival of Varane could do is convince the midfielder United’s ambitions match with his own.
At the end of the day, it’s about competing for silverware and Varane’s arrival should take United closer to doing that.
Ronaldo and Maguire will also have big parts to play, and the Portuguese superstar has already hit the goal trail upon his return to United.
Varane has settled in superbly too, and was excellent on Sunday when United needed to stand firm during the second half, when of course it was Pogba’s replacement Jesse Lingard who fired in the late winner.
