Well this seems to be progressing quickly. From a missed opportunity last summer, Bruno Fernandes appears to be a legitimate Manchester United target.
The Times confirmed United have been offered the chance to buy Fernandes by Sporting at a knockdown £55 million.
Sporting are said to be keen to sell their star asset to raise funds, and even Rio Ferdinand has been caught up in the excitement of United finally, possibly, getting their man.
This could drag on and on, but hopefully not. United have a massive incentive to get a deal done quickly, within days even.

Incentive
A look a Manchester United’s fixture list gives incentive to United not to drag this out.
There is a chance if United get a deal done in the next couple of days, that Fernandes could line up at Anfield next week.
And what a debut that could be, ending Liverpool’s unbeaten record, providing Jose Mourinho’s injury depleted Tottenham do not do the same today.
Fernandes starred against Liverpool for Sporting in pre-season and his name on the United teamsheet will give them reason to be worried. Far more than if Jesse Lingard is on it.
We are getting ahead of ourselves a little, sure, but United have to think like this. And there is the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg to consider too. Fernandes will give United a better shot.
