Manchester United transfer target Elliot Anderson was one of the first to react to Marcus Rashford’s World Cup display.
England made a winning start to their 2026 World Cup campaign and Marcus Rashford scored to contribute to a 4-2 win over Croatia.
Marcus Rashford started on the bench for England’s opener, but he was brought on as a second-half substitute by Thomas Tuchel and went on to score the fourth goal.
By scoring the fourth World Cup goal of his career, Rashford matched Sir Bobby Charlton’s record for England.

Man United and Elliot Anderson latest
Anderson was very impressive for England in their World Cup opener, playing the full 90 minutes and registering an assist.
The 23-year-old successfully managed to keep focused on the match and not get distracted by the transfer rumours around his future.
Manchester City have bid for Anderson, with their latest offer worth up to £121 million.
United insist they are still in the race for Anderson, but Ineos are not willing to pay close to what City have already put on the table.
As a result, United are ready to move on from Anderson and pursue alternative targets. If the player decides he wants an Old Trafford move, things could change.
