United fans react to Solskjaer’s press conference

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has faced the press for the first time since Manchester United’s humiliation at the hands of Liverpool.

Solskjaer has conducted his press conference ahead of the game against Tottenham.

He might have been expecting a real grilling after the 5-0 thumping and the questions about his tactics and team selection that have followed.

Some United fans on Twitter felt that Solskjaer got away lightly at the briefing, which lasted eight and a half minutes.

What should Solskjaer have been asked?

Solskjaer’s decision to pick the same starting 11 which looked so open in the first half against Atalanta has come under scrutiny, but he was not asked about that at the briefing.

There was not a question about his tactics either; why United tried to press Liverpool without the required cohesion to make it effective, having largely played on the counter attack against elite opposition under Solskjaer.

United conceded 11 goals in three games within eight days, but Solskjaer was not pushed on that poor defending either.

He could have been asked if he was considering a change of formation or a move away from some of his favoured personnel, but he wasn’t.

There was a lot of vagueness and Solskjaer was never really put under fire.

Reaction

Some United fans on Twitter felt that Solskjaer was not asked the right questions at the briefing.

There is another section of the briefing, which comes out at 10.30pm on Friday night, which may offer more insight.

But the first look at what Solskjaer faced ahead of the Spurs clash did not go down well with some fans on Twitter…
