Manchester United’s wonderkid recruitment stage is taking another step with Tynan Thompson, and the early signs are brilliant.
Having signed the likes of Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi, and Samuel Lusale, among others, from fellow Premier League club, Tynan Thompson has been identified as the next.
Thompson is currently at Spurs, and he could soon be a Man Utd player, if reports are to be believed.

Signing Premier League-proven players has been a key part of Ineos’ strategy, and if you can sign players who have come through the English system, that’s even better.
Heaven has shown what can happen when a player comes through the system and makes an impact immediately.
The £1m fee for Heaven is a steal now, and United will always be in the market looking to repeat that.
United in Focus got in touch with Spurs expert Jamie Brown, asking him for his thoughts on whether Thompson is a good get.
He said: “Tynan is a huge loss for the academy and certainly a youngster many fans, plus the club had high hopes for at Hotspur Way. He has a great chance of forging a top career for himself.
The 18-year-old produced 13 goals and six assists last season in 26 matches, which are solid numbers for a left winger. He looked very good in some of the UEFA Youth League games, netting a hat-trick against Slavia Prague in his most impressive performance. During pre-season for the first team last year, he looked like a player who could get a few first-team opportunities, especially after assisting a Pape Matar Sarr goal versus Wycombe, but unfortunately, those chances never came.
“Tynan is still some way off first-team opportunities at the Premier League level, but if he can get a good senior loan, it will be very interesting to see how he gets on. There is real frustration at losing him amongst supporters, and United are certainly getting a talented young player!”

Brown clearly believes that Spurs have let a good one slip through the net in Thompson, and while he thinks Thompson is not ready for the Premier League, there’s always an element of surprise.

Youngsters can often look right at home in a Premier League game, like Heaven. They just rarely receive trust and chances that way.
Thompson could surprise a few people, and with the left wing a position United are looking to recruit at, he could be a sleeper hit.
Ineos have earned enough trust with their recruitment that Man Utd fans will know that no signing is a shot in the dark.
They have seen something in Thompson, and Spurs expert backs that endorsement. By this time next year, he could well be a name that’s not a secret anymore.
