Ruben Amorim has wasted no time offloading players he believes are not up to scratch at Manchester United.
The Portuguese head coach has suffered a difficult start to life in England with Manchester United slumped down in 13th in the Premier League table.
Regardless, Ruben Amorim is trying to stay positive at United and insists he will get things right. There have been plenty of signs that suggest progress is being made.
But there is still plenty of work to be done, especially in the transfer window. United’s squad needs rebuilding, but Profit and Sustainability Rules have limited spending over the past month.
While incomings have been hard to get over the line, several first-team players have left the club this month on loan. Marcus Rashford has joined Aston Villa on loan and two of Erik ten Hag’s first signings also headed for the exit.

Antony and Tyrell Malacia leave on loan
Alongside Rashford, United let another winger leave the club this month with Antony joining Real Betis on loan.
Amorim was ready to sell Antony if a suitable bid arrived after being left unimpressed by the £82m Brazilian.
Antony was signed in the summer of 2022, just weeks after Tyrell Malacia became Ten Hag’s first signing.
The Dutch defender has made nine appearances this season but Malacia is now joining PSV on loan.
There is no buy option attached to Tyrell Malacia’s loan, meaning he will return to Manchester in the summer. However, with Patrick Dorgu signed for £25m this month it is hard to see a future for him under Amorim.
Two more Erik ten Hag signings likely to leave
After Antony and Malacia’s exit, United will turn their attention to the summer transfer window where more departures are expected.
A midfield revamp could be on the cards with Casemiro likely to leave in the summer after being linked with a move across January.
Christian Eriksen’s contract expires in 2025 meaning he is currently expected to leave as a free agent in the summer.

Both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen arrived in Ten Hag’s first transfer window but their days at the club are now numbered.
It means that the only survivor from Ten Hag’s first window in 2022 will be Lisandro Martinez, who recently suffered a major injury against Crystal Palace.
