Manchester United face Liverpool this weekend, and Senne Lammens could play a decisive role for Ruben Amorim’s side.
Heading to Anfield is never a game Manchester United look forward to, not winning away against Liverpool since January 2016.
This record has seen some heavy defeats, most emphatically when Liverpool thrashed United 7-0 in 2023.
United are unbeaten at Anfield since then, and will arrive on Merseyside with confidence this weekend as Liverpool have lost three in a row.

If Ruben Amorim gets all three points, Senne Lammens will be key for United, as he looks to build on his impressive debut. Now, his international teammate Thibaut Courtois has offered some advice.

Thibaut Courtois sends advice to Senne Lammens ahead of Liverpool clash
Lammens’ debut for United was long overdue; however, Amorim refused to cave to pressure over the Belgian, instead giving him the perfect debut against Sunderland, which saw a clean sheet and plenty of confidence built.
However, against Liverpool will be a completely different challenge for Lammens who has been labelled ‘baby Courtois’. In advance, Courtois has sent his Belgian compatriot some advice, as quoted by The Sun.
“It’s a hard stadium. Maybe I should tell him to clap the home fans when he arrives at the Kop!”
Additionally, Courtois discussed how he rates Lammens.
“His first game was a flavour of what United will get. He’s a tall guy, he is not afraid to come on crosses, and he’s a kid with personality.
“I’m sure he can do a good job. He has a tough game this weekend, so I hope that if he plays, it will go well for him. All the best to him.”
On his debut against Sunderland, Lammens earned Peter Schmeichel comparisons, and if he can inspire victory against Liverpool, this will only get louder.

Beating Liverpool would be a watershed moment for Manchester United
This season has been full of ups and downs for Manchester United, but beating Liverpool could be a real turning point.

There are several reasons to be positive for United right now, with performances this season increasingly impressive, with results yet to catch up to how Amorim’s side deserves.
Lammens fixed United’s big problem against Sunderland, with the goalkeeping role causing most of the issues United have had this season, with Altay Bayindir responsible for costing the club points.
This could be Amorim’s chance to get back-to-back wins, and potentially even a third with the poor Nottingham Forest coming to Old Trafford next weekend.
