Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has explained the biggest difference that he has seen at Manchester United under Michael Carrick since Ruben Amorim was sacked.
Ruben Amorim’s 14-month reign at Manchester United ended back in January and Ineos brought Red Devils legend Michael Carrick back to Old Trafford.
Carrick has had a transformative impact in his stunning interim head coach reign, including leading United to a third-place Premier League finish this season.
The Man Utd interim head coach has now been widely tipped to succeed former Red Devils boss Amorim on a permanent basis at the Premier League club.

Fabian Hurzeler on the major change of Man Utd under Michael Carrick compared with the Ruben Amorim era
Fabian Hurzeler crossed paths with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim this season and Brighton lost 4-2 to the Red Devils in their Premier League clash.
Amorim was sacked as Man Utd manager after the 41-year-old Portuguese head coach’s relationship with the Ineos regime at Old Trafford fractured.
Hurzeler praised the work that Michael Carrick has since done for United and the Brighton boss feels they have become a “really strong team” under his reign.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: “Great job. They [have played] an unbelievable season since he arrived.
“They seem to be like a really strong team again. And when we talk about Manchester United, we talk about one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“And they involve, of course, the biggest players in the world. So, we expect a team full of individual quality.
“We expect a team, although they don’t play for anything anymore, that is motivated, a team that wants to beat us.
“So, therefore, we have to be at our highest level to compete with them.”

Fabian Hurzeler on Man Utd’s Premier League season and the impact of Michael Carrick at Old Trafford
Carrick has chalked up an impressive 11 Premier League wins from 16 matches in charge in the Old Trafford hot seat since his January appointment as interim boss.
Fabian Hurzeler thinks that United have managed to pull off an “outstanding” season and Carrick is at the heart of the Red Devils’ success in the 2025-26 campaign.
“Manchester United [played] an outstanding season, especially since [Michael] Carrick arrived,” he explained, as per Brighton’s official website.
“They really look like a team. They have individual [qualities], so we have to play at our highest level to win this game.
“But we try to focus on our approach. We try to focus on our preparation, then we have a big chance.”
Brighton host Man Utd at the Amex on the final day of the Premier League season, with kick-off slated for 4pm UK time on Sunday.
