Steve McClaren is set to make his departure as part of Manchester United’s coaching staff.
While on the US tour, Manchester United’s new-look coaching staff shared a picture with the LA Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh.
One notable omission was Steve McClaren, who is back in the UK, due to a foot injury he is currently healing from.
Yet it appears McClaren is heading the way of Benni McCarthy and Mitchell van der Gaag, who have stepped down as Erik ten Hag’s assistants this summer.
New coaches Rene Hake, Andreas Georgson and Ruud van Nistelrooy have all joined Manchester United, and McClaren has now agreed his next move.

Steve McClaren heading to Jamaica
Once his foot has healed, Steve McClaren will be jetting across the Atlantic to take up his new position as Jamaica international team manager.
McClaren, who has been coaching at Carrington during the tour, has agreed terms to become new Jamaica boss.
Jamaica federation president Michael Ricketts said, via PA: “We are truly elated to announce the appointment of Mr.McClaren as Head Coach of the Reggae Boyz.
“We are confident we made the right decision & are looking forward to him guiding our nation towards the 2026 World Cup.”
McClaren is on a two-year contract and aims to steer Jamaica towards qualification for the expanded 48-team World Cup.
McClaren beats two United legends to role, and faces controversial decision
Steve McClaren has seen off competition from two Manchester United legends to land the Jamaica job. One of these was another man who also managed Newcastle, Steve Bruce.
Another was a player who McClaren coached under Sir Alex Ferguson, treble winner Dwight Yorke, who was linked with the role.
One former Manchester United player is in the Jamaica squad at present, former Red Devils defender Di’Shon Bernard, who played at the Copa America.
But there is a potentially controvesial decision looming for former England boss McClaren already, over Mason Greenwood.
Mason Greenwood did play for England once, but could still switch allegiances to represent Jamaica. Their previous manager opened the door for Greenwood to do so.
Now sold by Manchester United to Marseille, McClaren could find himself in the eye of the storm again, if the topic of an international call-up for Greenwood is his decision to make.
