Manchester United fans will have enjoyed Kylian Mbappe’s display against Manchester City as he battles with an Old Trafford misfit.
Ruben Amorim and Manchester United face a wait until the last 16 of the Europa League takes place.
Friday’s draw will see United drawn against Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, AZ Alkmaar or Midtjylland as Amorim chases European success.
There will be no European success for Manchester City this season though with United fans no doubt enjoying their Champions League exit.
City have been dumped out by Real Madrid with Kylian Mbappe running riot, bagging a first-half brace to sink Pep Guardiola’s side.
United fans will have loved how Mbappe tormented City but the Frenchman is now in a battle for an award over in Spain.

Manchester United loanee rivalling Kylian Mbappe
United winger Antony was sent to Real Betis in January as the wide man looked to get his career back on track.
Antony had struggled in a United shirt and will go down as one of the club’s most costly mistakes in the transfer market.
The Brazilian was just making no impact in the final third and Amorim was happy to let him go.
The move has sparked Antony into life with the winger bagging three goals and one assist in four games for Betis.
Betis teammate Natan has raved about Antony and his superb form has now seen him earn a nomination for La Liga Player of the Month.
Nobody could have expected this kind of impact when Antony left United but he is now challenging Mbappe for the award.
Mbappe and Antony are joined by Barcelona’s Pedri, Athletic Club’s Oihan Sancet and Osasuna’s Ante Budimir.
We would anticipate Mbappe winning, especially with the award’s ties to EA FC 25, but Antony has given himself a chance.
Spanish media hail Antony
The nomination is well deserved with Antony showing the kind of form that we haven’t seen since his early days at United.
Antony scored three in three to start his United career and is repeating the trick at Betis.
The challenge now is to keep this form going but the Spanish media have praised him in light of his nomination.
“Few players have had such a magical landing in the Spanish League as Antony,” said SPORT, branding him as ‘decisive, a goalscorer and charismatic’.
Betis and Antony appear to be loving this loan move and it works out pretty well for United too, putting him in the shop window for a summer move.
