Manchester United have booked their spot in the last 16 of the Europa League following a 2-0 win over FCSB.
For the first time as Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim can celebrate three consecutive wins across all competitions.
A 2-0 win over FCSB in Romania means United finish the Europa League group stage in third. The Europa League schedule has been difficult for Amorim, but the Portuguese coach will be delighted that his side avoided an unnecessary two-leg play-off in February.
With United struggling in the Premier League this season, winning the Europa League is the club’s best route back to the Champions League. Andre Onana is targeting European glory this season.
In what has been a turbulent season for United, the Red Devils have impressed in Europe and they’ve now achieved something no other club could manage.

Man United go unbeaten in the Europa League
United end the Europa League group stage with a record of five wins and three draws.
All three of those draws came in United’s first three European matches against FC Twente, Porto and Fenerbahce.
United did come close to defeat but Harry Maguire’s late equaliser against Porto protected the unbeaten record.
TNT Sports point out that Manchester United are now the only club in the Europa League that have gone unbeaten throughout the league phase.
Remarkably, no club went unbeaten in the Champions League either, meaning United are the only side in Europe who remain unbeaten.
When will Man United resume their Europa League campaign?
Under the new Europa League format, the top eight finishers in the group stage progress directly to the last 16. That is where United now find themselves.
Those placed 9-24th in the league will play a two-legged knockout to decide the final eight teams. Those knockout games will be drawn on Friday, January 31st.
The round of 16 draw is much more important to United, and that is set to take place on 21st February. United will also learn their potential opponents for the quarter-final and semi-final in that draw.

The round of 16 matches are then scheduled to take place on the 6th and 13th of March, with the quarter-finals being held a month later on the 10th and 17th of April.
