Scott McTominay has completed his move from Manchester United to Napoli.

After an agreement was reached between Manchester United and Napoli last weekend, Scott McTominay has finally been unveiled by the Italian club.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis was the first to confirm the news, sharing an image of McTominay signing his contract.

Manchester United confirm McTominay exit

Manchester United have subsequently confirmed Scott McTominay has completed his £25.7 million move to Napoli.

United penned a lengthy club statement wishing McTominay well, including the lines: “McTominay will be missed by everyone at the club and leaves with our best wishes as he embarks on a new chapter of his career in Italy.

“Good luck, Scott, arrivederci and thank you for the fabulous memories.”

Manchester United have negotiated a 10 per cent sell-on fee in the deal to sell McTominay, report The Times.

Scott McTominay leaves with best wishes

McTominay has played 255 games for Manchester United since making his debut under Jose Mourinho in 2017.

He has scored 29 goals along the way, with 10 coming in the 2023/24 season, his best ever return.

Selling McTominay was an attractive proposition for United due to PSR reasons, with manager Erik ten Hag expressing his regret, speaking at a press conference.

Ten Hag told his press conference: “He was so important for our team. He was at Manchester United for over 22 years. But unfortunately, it’s the rules.

“You have to discuss the rules to do sales, and obviously homegrown players, academy players, bring more value. It’s not the right thing to do but, for everyone, for all parties, it’s a good deal.

“For Scott, he is happy with it. Of course, for Napoli. (They are getting) a very good player. But also for us (it’s a good deal too).”

McTominay was given a stunning welcome by Napoli fans upon his arrival in Italy, while he has even been described as the best signing in Serie A in 2024.
