Sam Allardyce names the ‘only’ manager he thinks can fix Manchester United now, Ineos are keen

Manchester United will be weighing up managers from across the world, but after six failed permanent appointments, Sam Allardyce thinks only one man can be successful.

The era of Ruben Amorim at Manchester United came to a surprising yet decisive end earlier this week.

After an outburst to the media, Ineos sacked Amorim on Monday, with Darren Fletcher appointed as the interim manager as the club look to find a caretaker manager to see out this season.

United will appoint a new permanent manager at the end of this season.

Club legends have been having their say, with Paul Scholes wanting Thomas Tuchel to be the next managerial appointment. Meanwhile, Roy Keane has picked Eddie Howe, citing his calmness as one big reason.

But there are really dozens of options sure to be considered, with one standing out above the rest for Premier League legend Sam Allardyce.

Sam Allardyce says only Carlo Ancelotti can take the Manchester United job

When ranking current managers, there are not many with a better CV than Carlo Ancelotti.

If United wanted to guarantee short-term success, Ancelotti should be the dream target for Ineos, and Allardyce agrees.

Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast this week, Allardyce explained that he sees Ancelotti as the man to take the role right now.

“For me, there’s only one man who can do it, I think. He’s the manager of Brazil,” Allardyce said.

“Ancelotti, were you before him at Everton?” Allardyce was then asked.

“I was before him. He came after me. I met him several times, and I knew how good he was like but I didn’t know how good he was as a human being.

“Obviously, Dunc [Duncan Ferguson] worked with him. Big Dunc was, and Big Dunc told me about how great he was, and I knew how great he was as a manager, but he can spread magic on Manchester United because of his man management skills, not his coaching.

“I think he’d I think he’d come and jump at the chance of Man United. I think he likes this country.”

Prove me wrong… Carlo Ancelotti should be Ineos’ top option to become permanent manager this summer!

Do you think Ancelotti would be a success? Do we stand a chance of getting him?

Ancelotti could become the greatest manager ever in many people’s minds if he guides Brazil to World Cup glory in 2026, but restoring United to the top of the game would only strengthen this argument.

At 66, Ancelotti would be a short-term fix for United, but it might be a move that finally ends the curse.

Ancelotti has always coveted the Manchester United manager job

Ancelotti would arrive at United with the full blessing of Sir Alex Ferguson, given the mutual respect that the pair have for each other.

Now, it has emerged that Ancelotti has always desired the United managerial job, as Duncan Castles has revealed on The Transfers Podcast.

“Carlo Ancelotti, Ancelotti I think, is interesting, because Ancelotti, I heard a long time ago, in fact, when he was Chelsea coach, from someone close to him, that he has always coveted the Manchester United job and wanted an opportunity to do that before he retired.

“I mean, this was at a time when Manchester United was a better functioning football club. But let’s say he still has that interest.”

Castles also admitted that United would consider Ancelotti; however, it would only be after the World Cup, which might make for a tight timeframe that Ineos won’t be keen on.
