Manchester United fans now know the exact date that Ruben Amorim will become manager.
Just three days after Erik ten Hag was sacked at Manchester United, Ineos have already finalised a deal for his successor.
Ruben Amorim has agreed to join United as permanent manager after the 39-year-old was identified as the first-choice target by United’s leadership group.
United supporters tuned in to Sporting Lisbon’s 3-1 victory over Nacional on Tuesday evening with many expecting it to be Ruben Amorim‘s farewell match, however, that will not be the case.
Club chiefs had an ambitious plan for Amorim’s United debut with a hope that he could take charge against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, but the deal has now been finalised and supporters face a short wait before he takes control.

Ruben Amorim confirmed as new Man United manager
It took United a few days to finalise the terms of Amorim’s appointment, but everything has now been completed and signed off.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Amorim can now be considered the new Manchester United manager.
Romano confirmed that both clubs and Amorim are in complete agreement over the move, but he will not take charge until the November international break.
His contract at United is set to run until 2027 and Amorim is set for a hefty pay rise. His backroom staff from Sporting are set to join him in Manchester after a compensation fee was agreed.
Ruben Amorim will face Kieran McKenna in Man United debut
United’s interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge of United’s 5-2 win over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, and he is now set for an extended stay in charge of the side.
With Amorim staying at Sporting until the international break, it means Van Nistelrooy will have three more games as United’s temporary boss.

It means Amorim’s debut in United’s dugout will come against a former Red Devils coach in the shape of Kieran McKenna.
McKenna was a potential replacement for Ten Hag after his impressive start to his management career at Ipswich.
The 38-year-old was a coach during Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time as United manager, but he left in 2021 to pursue his own managerial career at Ipswich.
United travel to Portman Road on Sunday 24th November, where McKenna will face off against Amorim.
