Former Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim could see one of his key first-team Manchester United players thrive under his tutelage at Old Trafford.
That is according to former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue, who believes that it will be a “no-brainer” for Manchester United to hand one player a new contract.
Ruben Amorim officially arrived at Old Trafford last week at the start of the November international break, following his departure from Sporting CP.
The 39-year-old Portuguese coach agreed to become the new United manager earlier this month after the Red Devils triggered his £9.25m release clause.
Amorim, who has been widely hailed for his work at Sporting CP, took charge of his first United training at the Carrington complex on Monday amid the November break.
Erik ten Hag was sacked late last month after a poor start to the season and Ruud van Nistelrooy took over as interim United manager ahead of Amorim’s arrival.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was assistant manager to Erik ten Hag, picked up three wins and a draw in his four-match stint before his Old Trafford exit last week.

Eboue expects success for Man Utd
Speaking to The Nerve Africa, Emmanuel Eboue dropped his two cents on the future of Manchester United winger Amad Diallo at Old Trafford.
Amad Diallo impressed during the pre-season tour in the summer, but the 22-year-old United star was in and out of the starting XI under Erik ten Hag.
The Ivory Coast international has made 16 appearances across all competitions this season and Diallo has scored three times and registered two assists.
Diallo is out of contract with United next summer, but the Red Devils are expected to activate the one-year extension in the United winger’s existing deal.
“I think it’s a no-brainer that Man United will give him a new contract,” Eboue said.
“Every time he was given a chance, he always showed his goal. I think it will be even better with Amorim.”
Eboue talks up Diallo’s potential at Man Utd
Amad Diallo has impressed at times for United this season, including scoring a brace in the 2-0 Europa League win over PAOK at Old Trafford earlier this month.
Eboue believes that Diallo, who was signed from Serie A side Atalanta in 2021, could be a “key player” for the United team for the long term if “he has more time.”
“The composure he shows with the ball, for such a young boy, is excellent,” Eboue said.
“It’s so good to see a player from my home country come into his own and decide games for a club of the stature of Manchester United.
“I think he will be great, if he has more time.”
He added: “Manchester United needs to be proactive here. Amad Diallo has the potential to be a key player for the team for years to come.”
