Premier League legend Alan Shearer has praised a Manchester United star who was a “constant threat” under Ruben Amorim in the 4-0 win against Everton on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim led the Red Devils for his first Premier League match at Old Trafford on the weekend, with Manchester United outclassing Sean Dyche’s Everton side.
Marcus Rashford broke the deadlock in the first half for United before summer signing Joshua Zirkzee netted the Red Devils’ second before half-time.
Both Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford found the back of the net in the second half and Sean Dyche’s men succumbed to a 4-0 thrashing at Old Trafford.
United are now ninth in the Premier League table after 13 matches played and the Red Devils are only four points away from the top four.

Shearer singles out Man Utd star
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Alan Shearer dropped the ultimate praise on Amad Diallo after his “fantastic” performance against Everton at Old Trafford.
Amad Diallo has become a key first-team player for Ruben Amorim and the Ivorian has been modified to play in a wing-back role for the Manchester United manager.
The 22-year-old excelled in the wing-back role in Amorim’s first Red Devils match against Ipswich Town last month, with Amad picking up an assist in the 1-1 draw.
Amad started against Everton and was out on the right flank as a wing-back in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation, with the United star producing a show-stealing display.
The Ivory Coast international picked up two assists against the Toffees and was a lively threat over the course of the 90 minutes in the Premier League clash.
“Amad Diallo was absolutely outstanding on the right-hand side,” Shearer said.
“He was fantastic – player of the match. He was a constant threat.
“His work-rate, his attitude, his understanding of what his manager wants from him in that position is brilliant.”
Amorim raves about Diallo vs Everton
Amad Diallo was left fighting for his place in the starting XI under former United manager Erik ten Hag, who was sacked by the Red Devils in late October.
United fans were left frustrated with Erik ten Hag’s use of Amad, despite the Ivory Coast winger impressing for the club during the pre-season tour in the summer.
Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge of United after Ten Hag was sacked and Amad was able to show off his potential during the Dutchman’s four-match interim spell.
Amorim praised United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy for the work that he did with Amad in his post-match press conference.
“He was really good again, he’s in a great moment, but that moment started with Ruud [van Nistelrooy],” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“I’ve just taken advantage of Ruud’s work with Amad. He was really good defensively, and really good attacking, so he has to continue to play like that.
“You could feel at the end of the game, he was really tired, so we also have to manage that, to increase his physical ability.”
