New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has sent out a clear-cut message to supporters after arriving at Old Trafford in the November international break.

The Red Devils agreed a deal to bring Ruben Amorim to Old Trafford after former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was axed from the club last month.

Erik ten Hag, who inked a contract extension with United in the summer, was dismissed after the Red Devils’ poor start to the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

United triggered the £9.25m release clause in Amorim’s Sporting CP contract and the 39-year-old Portuguese manager inked a deal with the Red Devils until June 2027.

Amorim has been widely praised for his impact at Sporting CP after leading the Portuguese side to two Primeira Liga titles and two Portuguese League Cups.

The former Sporting CP manager’s arrival at Old Trafford earlier this week also marked the end of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s time at United.

Ruud van Nistelrooy returned to Old Trafford in the summer as an assistant manager under Ten Hag before he became interim manager at the Premier League club.

Amorim’s powerful Man Utd message

Ruben Amorim has been pictured at Manchester United after his arrival and the new Red Devils boss faces an uphill task for the remainder of the campaign.

United are currently 13th in the Premier League table after 11 matches played and the Red Devils are only four points behind the top four.

Ruud van Nistelrooy managed to steer the ship after Erik ten Hag’s dismissal, with the Dutchman picking up three wins and one draw during his interim manager spell.

During an Old Trafford stadium tour visit, former Sporting CP manager Amorim visited the directors’ box, the dugouts and the press conference room.

Amorim made his feelings clear to fans that his United team will be “ready” for their first fixture after the November international break.

“This is funny. I’ve watched this room so many times,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“Sunday, next week. Ipswich. We will be ready.”

Bruno Fernandes’ high praise for Amorim

Amorim will lead United on 24th November at Portman Road against Ipswich Town in the Premier League, with kick-off slated for 4:30pm UK time.

United captain Bruno Fernandes has opened up about his admiration for Amorim and the Red Devils manager’s work at former side Sporting CP.

“He’s a really smart manager that has done really good things for Sporting tactically – it’s really good, what I’ve seen from the games for Sporting,” he told United’s official website.

“But obviously as we always speak, you can’t bring or transform what he has done at Sporting into here, because you have different players, you have different ways of play and everything.

“I’m pretty sure that the idea of football he has, independent of the way he wants to play, is going to be a good one and it’s going to bring us success.

“That’s what I hope and I’m pretty sure that [is what] he hopes, too.”
