Ruben Amorim is discovering just how difficult it is being Manchester United head coach.

There are some inevitabilities at Manchester United that you just can’t dodge.

After defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, Ruben Amorim was staring down the barrel of losing three straight games, for the first time in his career.

Amorim avoided the unwanted feat in spectacular fashion, with United bouncing back from falling a goal down to Plzen, winning 2-1.

United then beat City at The Etihad, and the ship appeared to have been steadied. Unfortunately not for long.

Amorim suffers three consecutive defeats

Ruben Amorim has now succumbed to a run of three successive losses. These include defeats to Tottenham, Bournemouth, and now Wolves.

The question now is over just how bad will it get, and whether Amorim will double up with a run of three further losses.

United’s fixtures are extremely tricky. The Wolves game was supposed to be one of the easier games.

The next game is at home to Newcastle, which will take place without the suspended Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte.

Following on, United face Liverpool away and then Arsenal away. Then we have a game at home to Southampton.

So the worry now is just over how bad it gets for United and Ruben Amorim, in the short-term.

Ruben Amorim looking to bounce back

Ruben Amorim is bullish on Manchester United’s situation despite finding himself in the toughest spell of his young coaching career.

He told United’s website: “We have to improve the relationships but we have some moments, I think we lack a little bit of aggression, but we train, we try to find a better way to win games, but we controlled the games, like the other ones we lost.

“I think we were always in control, not always dominating, but in control, but the same things, set-pieces and also the sending off was really hard for us.

“I said it before everybody: it will be a long journey and this moment will be really tough. We have to continue. We need to have time to train.”
