Manchester United are set to overhaul the squad this summer with several positions needing reinforcements.
This season has been a disaster and has likely already been written off by Manchester United since the moment Erik ten Hag was sacked.
In the cup competitions United look strong, but Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils sit 15th in the league, level on points with 16th.

United’s recent injury crisis has only added to Amorim’s troubles, while it has also seen the head coach dip into Carrington for his solutions.
This has seen Chido Obi make two senior appearances for United, with underperforming strikers likely to give the 17-year-old further opportunities.
Now one player who has barely been fit for Amorim is tipped to find himself the subject of Inter Milan’s interest this summer.
Inter Milan showing an interest in Mason Mount
When United appointed Amorim, one player tipped to benefit was Mason Mount. The 26-year-old has struggled since his arrival from Chelsea in 2023 as he never found his place under Ten Hag due to Mount’s appalling injury record for United.
This means United would be unlikely to oppose an exit for the Englishman and this summer they could be offered the chance to get rid.
According to a report from Inter Live, the Serie A Scudetto favourites are planning a deal with United to sign Mount.
It is claimed that Inter could soon offer a deal for the midfielder, with Mount’s agents already at work to find him a new club for next season, having only played 189 minutes under Amorim.
Inter would be willing to take Mount on loan with an option to buy – while helping pay an important chunk of Mount’s £250,000-a-week salary commands.

Mount will be incredibly frustrated with his injury record, considering he would be a regular for Amorim if he could have remained fit.
“Mason Mount… I have to tell you I love that kid”, Amorim raved about Mount after taking charge, while speaking with club media.
“You can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad. And this is the most important thing for me.”

Amorim was heard praising Mount in United training, as he also stated the new system would suit Mount perfectly.
“He played in this system [before], so it’s perfect for him. I have two positions for Mason Mount, so he should be very happy!”
Mount being ‘perfect’ for the system only strengthens the claim that he will play a big role under Amorim.
