Ruben Amorim has revealed that he has had a better week after he “didn’t lose players” to injuries ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Everton on Saturday.
The 40-year-old Manchester United manager has seen his first-team squad hit with injuries in recent weeks and depleted his rotational options in certain key areas.
Ruben Amorim has had to contend with the injury crisis amid United’s poor run of form in the Premier League, with the Red Devils suffering a setback last weekend.
Spurs secured a 1-0 win over United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Amorim was forced to include several youth academy players on his bench due to injuries.
United languish in 15th place in the Premier League table ahead of their visit to Goodison Park this weekend, with kick-off slated for 12:30pm UK time.
Everton have won four of their last five Premier League matches since former United manager David Moyes made his sensational return to the Goodison Park dugout.

Amorim on Man Utd team news and three players
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Ruben Amorim confirmed that three of his first-team Manchester United players “will return.”
Manuel Ugarte was sidelined for the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham last Sunday and the United midfielder has returned for Amorim’s side.
Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen were out of action for the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to illness, but both players are now back.
“Yes, [better week] because we didn’t lose players, Chris [Eriksen], Manu and Leny will return,” Amorim said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
Amorim also insisted that his comments around Christian Eriksen were a “misunderstanding” after he previously touched on the player’s “heart situation.”
“With Chris, it was a misunderstanding [mention of his heart after Tottenham] and I want to be really clear on that,” he explained.
“Also because of Chris, he’s healthy and ready to play, so many years at the high level and it was just my limitation on explaining injuries, so I want to make this really clear.”
Amorim on Man Utd injury updates
Despite the boost to his squad, Amorim has several players sidelined due to injury and Amad Diallo is out for a “long time” after suffering ankle ligament damage.
The former Sporting CP boss dropped an update on six of his other first-team players, including Toby Collyer edging closer to a return to action.
“It’s hard to know, Amad is for a long time, Mase [Mason Mount] continues to recover, Luke continues to recover and I don’t have a day,” Amorim said.
“Toby seems to be the closest one but not now. Kobbie is recovering. Altay and Tom are recovering.”
