Rio Ferdinand reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo performance
Cristiano Ronaldo netted a brace as Manchester United came from behind to beat Arsenal.
Ronaldo scored his 11th and 12th United goals of the season in the 3-2 victory.
Ronaldo’s first goal was a clinical one-touch strike from inside the box, while his second was a penalty, the first spot-kick he has taken since returning to the club.
The star dispatched the penalty without fuss, and he may have sewn up the job full-time.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
Ronaldo’s 12 goals have come in 16 games, with six in the Premier League and six in the Champions League.
Former teammate Rio Ferdinand mocked pundits who had taken a dig at Ronaldo for prompting United’s demise under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Staggering feats
Ronaldo’s brace took him from 799 career goals to 801 for club and county.
The incredible and as yet unfinished feat was praised by Thierry Henry, who admitted on Amazon Prime: “I would need two lives to match Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Henry’s very impressive career is put in context by Ronaldo’s remarkable achievements.
During Henry’s career he scored 417 career goals for club and country. A very commendable record.
Ronaldo is on his way to doubling Henry’s tally, and it probably won’t be long until he does.
A new challenge lies ahead as he looks to impress new interim boss Ralf Rangnick. He got off to a pretty good start last night.
