Manchester United are preparing to push for a deal to sign Raphael Varane now Jadon Sancho’s transfer is agreed.
The Telegraph report Varane is Manchester United’s ‘priority’ next move.
Varane’s future is uncertain with just one year remaining on his Real Madrid contract.
Real have so far been unable to to convince him to extend his contract, although the possibility remains he could extend.

Two rival suitors
Spanish newspaper El Confidencial reported last month that PSG were keen on Varane and he was attracted by a move.
Meanwhile Eurosport report Chelsea have entered the race and are keeping tabs on his situation at Real, although they also have other defensive targets they are considering.
United’s interest is strong, and Varane may be impressed by the club making a serious play to try and lure him to Old Trafford.
A move for Varane along with Sancho would make this a very impressive transfer window.
What else is in play?
Varane and Sancho alone won’t be enough, with strengthening required in midfield.
How this shapes up depends on Paul Pogba’s situation. If the club cash in on the Frenchman, then it will leave more money to play with, and could even open up the possibility of a move for Jack Grealish.
Eduardo Camavinga has been linked by The Mail and he could be a long term Pogba replacement.
A top class ‘ready now’ defensive midfielder is required, although it is unclear who this might be. United could try to mould Camavinga into that player.
Links to Kieran Trippier at right-back have gone quiet with Atletico reluctant to sell on the cheap. United may revisit this later in the transfer window once a midfielder and centre-back are addressed.
