Donny van de Beek is the latest player to be floated as a potential signing for Manchester United.
ESPN and The Telegraph both report United are ‘considering’ a move for the Ajax star, who is valued at around £50 million.
Quite why we are only considering it now is beyond us, it is time to be putting bids in for players and starting negotiations.
Van de Beek was a player United In Focus named last summer as a potential replacement for Ander Herrera.

He was not a priority then, but he finally appears to be now. Better late than never.
This season Van de Beek has scored eight goals from midfield for Ajax plus five assists.
In the 2018/19 season he managed 12 goals and 12 assists. He also scored in the Champions League semi-final, showing his ability to produce in big games.
At only 22, Van de Beek is worth taking the plunge on. He would add energy, creativity and technical ability to United’s midfield.
Reportedly keen
Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan told Talksport last summer that Van de Beek would be open to a move to United.
He said: “Van de Beek has his eyes set on the Premier League. He is a proper Premier League player with an Ajax education and can play in many positions in midfield.
“He wants a Premier League move to Manchester United or Spurs. If that materialises it would be right up his street.”

United should have been on the phone to Ajax last summer after hearing this and getting him snapped up straight away.
We are lucky that no other club made the move, including Real Madrid who at one stage were said to be focusing on him as an alternative to Paul Pogba, The Evening Standard reported.
United have a second chance to sign him up, and considering our lack of midfield options due to injuries, this is a golden opportunity.
