Rasmus Hojlund appears to be going through a confidence crisis as Manchester United’s main striker this season.
The 22-year-old Dane showed huge signs of promise last season following his £64m move to Manchester United with 16 goals across all competitions.
However, Rasmus Hojlund has struggled to build on his debut season and his two Premier League goals this campaign tells the story of a struggling striker.
Hojlund had fewer touches than Andre Onana against Everton. It is certainly not the first time he has struggled to impact a game, and questions are now being asked of his future.
United are prepared to sell Hojlund this summer if an adequate offer is made. Several Italian teams have shown interest, and his exit would allow Amorim to sign a new striker to fit his system.

Rasmus Hojlund ranks worst in Premier League in one area
Selling Hojlund so early into his United career would be a shame. He has shown glimpses of potential and seems better suited to being a second-string striker behind a more senior forward option.
There are some alarming stats this season that suggest Hojlund has some major flaws to his game.
United fans have slammed Hojlund for his poor first touch and inability to hold up play. Amorim wants his side to control matches and dominate possession, but Hojlund has struggled to adapt to those instructions.
As pointed out by The Athletic, one of Hojlund’s biggest weaknesses is aerial duels, despite the towering Dane’s physical presence.
Hojlund has won just 22% of his aerial duels this season – the lowest of any Premier League striker to play at least 900 minutes this season.
He also averages just 1.2 non-penalty shots per 90 minutes, which ranks him 55th on the list of Premier League strikers (who have played more than 900 minutes).
Ruben Amorim wants to support Rasmus Hojlund
Despite Hojlund’s 16-game goal drought, Amorim has backed the United star to thrive.
Amorim believes in Hojlund’s potential and defended the out-of-form striker by suggesting he is being let down by the team’s poor performances.
The service to Hojlund has been poor, and that is something Amorim is keen to address.
The Red Devils are currently struggling to create chances, and Hojlund is struggling to put them away. It is hardly a surprise United have only scored four goals in their last five Premier League matches.
“I think it’s clear, we as a team aren’t helping Rasmus”, Amorim said. “We don’t create a lot of chances. We have a lack of threat and you can feel it in the games.”
