Manchester United will renew a competitive rivalry with Arsenal on Saturday in a pre-season ‘friendly’ in New York.

The fixture kicks off at 10pm UK time, and will be the Gunners’ second game in their tour of America so far. Manchester United have played two games so far in Norway and Scotland.

United selected a 31-man tour squad who have flown out and began training in New Jersey on Thursday.

Erik ten Hag’s side visit Arsenal in the fourth Premier League game of the season, so this fixture could prove useful for both sides.

Manchester United predicted line-up v Arsenal

Erik ten Hag has demonstrated in previous pre-season friendly matches that he will select the strongest squad available to him.

A full 11 changes are expected at half-time, with United using these friendlies principally as a way for players to build up their fitness.

Lets be bold and say Andre Onana will start in goal. He took part in his first training session after completing his £43 million move, and should be good to go. Tom Heaton would play the second half.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have all played 90 minutes total across two games and should start this one too. Luke Shaw will join them at left-back.

In the second half we could see Alvaro Fernandez, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Diogo Dalot.

It’s possible Maguire could play the first 45, just to avoid the awkward situation of Fernandes having to give him the armband for the second.

£55 million signing Mason Mount will feature in midfield, and will be joined by Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, playing their first pre-season minutes.

In the second half we could see Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, and either Kobbie Mainoo or Hannibal.

A three man attack could see Jadon Sancho and Antony continue, with Marcus Rashford leading the line.

In the second half Amad, Facundo Pellistri, and Alejandro Garnacho would all love to get minutes, while it is unclear if Anthony Martial is actually fit to play.
