Manchester United have named a 31-man squad for the upcoming USA tour.
There are a number of big names, and a few notable omissions. Andre Onana is not yet included as his transfer is not complete, however, this could be sorted out within the next 24 hours.
Fred is also not named in the squad. The club website states: “The Brazilian has remained in the UK to deal with a personal issue, but he is expected to join up with the rest of the squad shortly.”
Peculiarly Dean Henderson is in. There is no place either for Matej Kovar, with Radek Vitek making it instead.

Reaction
It is small surprise Anthony Martial makes it. With his track record of injuries, we had been expecting he may not be fit, having missed the first two pre-season games.
There are a number of omissions. Jonny Evans is not included, nor are youngsters Shola Shoretire, Joe Hugill and Isak Hansen-Aaroen, along with Kovar. Tyrell Malacia and Rhys Bennett do not travel due to injury.
It’s unclear if this is because the youngsters will be heading out on loan deals, or if they could travel out separately, with Evans, as part of a smaller squad for the Wrexham game.
The club website stated earlier today: “The centre-back will also be in the squad to face Welsh outfit Wrexham in San Diego next week.”
It is good to see the first team stars back in action. Fred, who signed for United for £47 million in 2018, has been linked with an exit, and its possible his omission is related. He featured in the pre-season game against Lyon earlier today.
