Patrick Dorgu is just one example of Manchester United’s improved recruitment under the new Ineos structure.
Manchester United fans have had to deal with poor recruitment for well over a decade, but there are clear signs of improvement under Ineos.
Patrick Dorgu was signed for £25 million under Ineos, and the Danish star has now settled at Old Trafford and is beginning to fulfil his exciting potential.
On international duty this week, Dorgu scored a wonder goal while playing as a right winger for Denmark. His versatility for United is a brilliant asset, and his strong run of form this season has seen his value skyrocket.

Should he be starting as a winger or full-back next season?
Patrick Dorgu’s value is climbing
Dorgu was a bargain opportunity for United, and already the deal can be looked back on by Ineos with pride.
As per Transfermarkt, Patrick Dorgu’s market value at the time of his United move was 20m Euros (£17m). As of 2026, his value has already soared to 35m Euros (£30m).
Football Transfers even value Dorgu as high as 51m Euros (£44m), which proves that United’s investment has nearly doubled in value.
There are question marks around where Dorgu will play under Michael Carrick in 2026/27, either as a left-back or as a left winger. But ultimately, he has impressed wherever he has been deployed, and at 21 years old he still has a bright future ahead of him.
It was transfer chief Christopher Vivell who was the main driving force in signing Dorgu, and the success of the transfer is a credit to him.
Vivell was also integral in the deal for Benjamin Sesko. The 39-year-old is looking like a shrewd appointment by Ineos, and his reputation is growing at a rapid rate.

Patrick Dorgu’s contract details at Man United
When United signed Dorgu in January of 2025, he was brought in as an exciting, young prospect.
Already, he has cemented himself as a regular starter for United, and it is often forgotten just how young he is.
Dorgu’s contract is valid until 2030 and United have an option to extend for an extra year. Ineos were clearly viewing Dorgu as a long-term investment, and he is already beginning to fulfil his potential.
In terms of salary, Dorgu is earning around £40,000 per week which ranks him as one of the lowest earners in the United squad.
Overall, it was an excellent deal by Ineos. Not many signings over the past decade have arrived at United and increased their market value, but Dorgu is proof of Ineos’ transfer success.
