Manchester United are on the verge of a major January signing with Lecce wing back Patrick Dorgu set to arrive at Old Trafford.
The January transfer window only has a few more days to run now and Manchester United appear to be waking up.
The inconsistent form under Ruben Amorim may have just sparked United into life in the transfer market.

United are also closing in on another additions with Lecce talent Patrick Dorgu nearing a move to Old Trafford.
Patrick Dorgu’s wages at Manchester United
United started talks to sign Dorgu last week but talks with Lecce have not been easy.
The Italian side are fighting for their lives in Serie A and don’t want to lose such a key player midway through the campaign.
United have kept pushing and pushing though and now appear to be in line for a deal.
Reports from Italy earlier on Tuesday suggested that United are finalising terms for Dorgu.
It’s suggested that United are paying a total package of around £31.5million to bring Dorgu to Manchester.
More reports are emerging in Italy and Solo Lecce have shared details of Dorgu’s potential wages at Old Trafford.
They claim that Dorgu will initially earn around €2million-a-year – which equates to just about £38,500-a-week.
It’s added that Dorgu will then earn €3million-a-year in the final year of his five-year contract, meaning his earnings will go up to around £57,500-a-week.
Dorgu’s current earnings at Lecce are unclear but it’s stated that it is a ‘monstrous’ offer from United by comparison.
Lecce deal branded a ‘masterpiece’ in Italy
This deal shatters Lecce’s record in terms of in incoming fee for a player.
Ironically, Lecce’s current transfer record involves selling a Danish player to Ruben Amorim.
Midfielder Morten Hjulmand was sold to Amorim’s Sporting side in 2023, raking in around £16million.
United’s deal for Dorgu is almost twice that fee and Tuttomercatoweb have branded the deal a ‘masterpiece’ for the club.
Lecce landed Dorgu on the cheap and have now sold him for a huge fee with Pantaleo Corvino praised for flipping the left wing back for massive profit.
United will now hope to see Dorgu become a star at Old Trafford and fulfil the potential he has already shown in Italy.
