Patrice Evra has made his feelings perfectly clear on two of Ruben Amorim’s first-team Red Devils players and Manchester United’s 2024-25 Premier League season.

Manchester United have seen a major collapse in the current Premier League campaign and the Red Devils now languish in 16th place in the league table.

Ruben Amorim watched on from the Old Trafford touchline as the Red Devils fell to their 17th Premier League defeat on Sunday in their woeful 2024-25 campaign.

United host West Ham at Old Trafford on the weekend and Graham Potter’s Hammers side walked away with all three points after a 2-0 win over the Red Devils.

The Red Devils have two Premier League matches remaining in their abysmal season and United have failed to pick up a single win in their last five league matches.

United will sign off their campaign with their worst finish in the Premier League era and the Red Devils have 10 wins from 36 Premier League fixtures to their name.

The Premier League club’s season now hinges on what Amorim and United can do in the Europa League final, with the Red Devils facing Tottenham on 21st May.

What Ruben Amorim told Patrice Evra when the Man Utd legend met the Red Devils manager in a meeting

Manchester United knocked Athletic Club out of the Europa League semi-finals and the Red Devils punched their ticket to the final at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.

Ruben Amorim could lift his first piece of silverware as United manager in the 2024-25 campaign if the Red Devils can overcome Tottenham in the Europa League final.

The Europa League trophy is also essential for United to unlock a path back to Europe for the 2025-26 season and secure their place in the Champions League.

Patrice Evra has now opened up on United head coach Amorim and what happened when he had the opportunity to cross paths with the former Sporting manager.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the United legend said: “It’s been a disaster. It’s not a great season.

“I think Amorim knows that. I had a meeting with him and he’s not happy, but I love his humility because you know, he admits things.

“I love his honesty. I said [to Amorim], ‘Welcome to your club,’ and he [Amorim] said, ‘No, Patrice, I’m at your club.’ I love his personality, but of course, the results have been really bad this season.

“It’s a process. In his first year, I see a lot of improvements. There is discipline. The player who doesn’t want to run, who doesn’t want to die for the badge, they won’t play for Manchester United.”

Patrice Evra speaks out on Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven under Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim

Amorim is expected to begin the major overhaul of the United first-team squad that he inherited from Erik ten Hag when the summer transfer window opens.

The 40-year-old United manager did see his options bolstered in the January window after the Red Devils brought Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven to Old Trafford.

Evra said that both Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven need time to adapt at United, but he warned the pair that there “won’t be an excuse” for next season.

“He brought in a few players [Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven], but they need time to adapt,” he added.

“Even myself with [Nemanja] Vidic when he arrived, we had six months to adapt, so next year won’t be an excuse.

“But we will be good if we play Champions League next year because he’ll be able to attract more players, maybe the players he wanted from the beginning, so it’s a crucial moment in the history of the club.”

United acquired Dorgu from Serie A outfit Lecce in a deal worth £25m in February, while Heaven was signed from the Arsenal youth set-up in the same month.
