Altay Bayindir has surprisingly turned the heads of Manchester United fans after an eye-catching stat comparing him with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has emerged online.
Altay Bayindir has featured regularly in the 2025-26 campaign after Andre Onana lost his place as Manchester United No 1 under Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim.
Andre Onana was loaned out to Trabzonspor in September after United completed their deadline-day move for Senne Lammens from Belgian side Royal Antwerp.
Bayindir has started six of United’s seven opening Premier League matches of the season, but the Red Devils shot-stopper has not kept a single clean sheet so far.

Altay Bayindir might have climbed the pecking order under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, but he has struggled to impress between the sticks.
The 27-year-old Turkish ‘keeper, much like Andre Onana, has been prone to errors with his performances and he has struggled to instil confidence among United fans.
Bayindir was dropped to the bench for the Red Devils’ last match ahead of the October break and Senne Lammens was handed his long-awaited United debut.
Statman Dave on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, shared a teasing stat involving Bayindir and Mohamed Salah ahead of United’s clash against Liverpool.
He posted that United player Bayindir has rivalled Liverpool star Salah for successful take-ons in the 2025-26 Premier League season after seven league matches.

It is unlikely that United fans – thankfully, it should be added – will see Bayindir try to add to his take-on stats by facing off against Salah in a one on one at Anfield.
Amorim is likely to stick with Lammens between the sticks after the Red Devils summer signing kept a clean sheet in United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland.
Lammens was tested only a couple of times in the Premier League tie at Old Trafford last Saturday, but the United star was comfortable with commanding his box as well.
Liverpool and United will meet on 19th October in their Premier League clash at Anfield, with kick-off for the match slated for 4:30pm UK time.
United are 10th in the Premier League table and Liverpool are second, but the Reds have lost all of their last three matches across all competitions.
