Pundits Michael Owen and Gary Neville both saw eye to eye on one first-team Manchester United player’s 2025-26 Premier League season at Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick’s men wrapped up their Premier League campaign last Sunday after Manchester United’s encounter with Brighton at the Amex.

Goals from Patrick Dorgu, Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes ensured that Man Utd defeated Brighton 3-0 on the final day of the Premier League season.

Patrick Dorgu opened the scoring for Michael Carrick’s side in the first half before the 21-year-old Denmark international assisted Bruno Fernandes in the second half.

Gary Neville’s major praise for Bruno Fernandes after Man Utd’s 2025-26 Premier League season

Before Bruno Fernandes netted only two minutes after the break last Sunday afternoon, the Manchester United captain chalked up his 21st league assist.

The 31-year-old Portugal midfielder set up Patrick Dorgu from a corner-kick at the Amex and Fernandes broke the Premier League assist record for a single season.

Fernandes had shared the record with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and former Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne going into the final day of the season.

The Premier League’s official website shared the Premier League Team of the Season from several pundits, including both Gary Neville and Michael Owen.

United legend Neville showed his admiration for Fernandes’ stunning run of form by picking him as the only Red Devils star in his Premier League Team of the Season.

Michael Owen feels the same way as Gary Neville over Bruno Fernandes, but he also shows praise for another Man Utd ace

Owen, much like former Man Utd and England teammate Neville, didn’t hesitate to include Portugal star Fernandes in his own Premier League Team of the Season.

However, the 46-year-old former United and Liverpool striker differed from Neville after he picked one of Fernandes’ teammates as part of his own Team of the Season.

Owen included Casemiro in the two-man midfield pivot alongside Arsenal star Declan Rice after the outgoing Man Utd midfielder’s stunning run of form this season.

Casemiro enjoyed a sensational resurgence in form in the second half of the 2025-26 campaign under Michael Carrick, who was appointed United manager last week.
