The Ineos regime at Old Trafford must ensure one key agreement is reached with Bruno Fernandes over a new long-term Manchester United contract at the club.
Bruno Fernandes inked his last Manchester United deal back in 2024 and the 31-year-old Portuguese is out of contract with the Premier League club in 2027.
The Man Utd captain has been a linchpin figure in the first-team squad since his 2020 move from Sporting CP and showed his importance once again this season.
Despite being one of the best signings in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, Fernandes has not been able to escape the narrative around his United future in the long term.

Ineos must scrap Bruno Fernandes’ release clause in a new Man Utd contract amid Saudi Arabia’s transfer interest
Manchester United reportedly want to keep hold of Bruno Fernandes and are keen for the Portuguese maestro to commit his long-term future after the World Cup.
Fernandes was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer, but the Portugal international turned down a lucrative transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
However, Fabrizio Romano reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, that United are to “start talks” with former Sporting CP midfielder Fernandes over a new deal.
He also added that the discussion will come with Fernandes amid his eye-catching £57m release clause hanging over the Man Utd and Portugal star’s head.
Fernandes’ release clause is not accessible for Premier League clubs — if that is one silver lining for United fans — with his £57m exit route running until the first half of July.

Bruno Fernandes’ release clause is devoid of any logic for Man Utd, especially with Saudi Arabia’s interest
Fernandes might have shut down Saudi Arabia before, but the United and Portugal midfielder will constantly remain a prized transfer asset for the Saudi Pro League.
Sure, the United star is keen to remain at Old Trafford, but his release clause seems to be a constant elephant in the room at the end of each Premier League season.
The Red Devils would benefit from ensuring that Fernandes agrees to scrap the release clause from his contract if the two sides can strike a new deal this summer.
No matter how much older Fernandes becomes in the short term, the £57m release clause still feels too low for the talented former Sampdoria and Udinese player.
When United are ready to sell Fernandes, the Red Devils could easily demand more than his set release clause from the money-spinning clubs in Saudi Arabia.
