Matheus Cunha has now opened up on the all-important side of Casemiro’s character and the Brazil midfielder’s Manchester United future after the Liverpool match.
Manchester United confirmed in January that Casemiro would leave the Premier League club at the end of the 2025-26 campaign at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils opted not to trigger Casemiro’s 12-month extension clause and the 34-year-old Brazilian veteran midfielder will become a free agent in the summer.
However, Casemiro has enjoyed a major resurgence in form at the Red Devils under interim head coach Michael Carrick ahead of his Man Utd contract expiring in June.

Casemiro has netted five times and registered an assist in Michael Carrick’s 14 Premier League matches in charge at Old Trafford since Ruben Amorim’s sacking.
The five-time Champions League winner, who has been at Manchester United since 2022, has been linked with clubs in both the MLS and Saudi Arabia in recent months.
Speaking after Man Utd’s 3-2 Premier League win over Liverpool, Matheus Cunha waxed lyrical about the influence of Brazil teammate Casemiro off the pitch.
“It’s so easy to talk about him,” he said, as per BBC Sport.
“I know how important he is. He’s an amazing guy. There is a strong part of him outside the pitch.
“He’s so lovely and so friendly. He teaches me.”
If Casemiro wanted to stay one more year – surely you would let him?!

Cunha had a real impact on Sunday afternoon after he broke the deadlock for Man Utd against Liverpool inside the first 10 minutes at Old Trafford.
Casemiro saw out the full 90 minutes of the Liverpool match and the former Real Madrid star now only has three Premier League fixtures left in his United spell.
Cunha refused to rule out the possibility that Casemiro could remain at Man Utd and is keen for his Brazil teammate not to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
“We don’t know in the end how it is with his contract,” he added.
“Of course, everyone hopes there’s a little bit more. I know it’s harder than we talked about, but, in the end, you never know.”
Casemiro has made 34 appearances across all competitions in the 2025-26 campaign and has netted nine times and picked up two assists for Man Utd.
