Wonderkid Mason Greenwood has enjoyed a terrific season in which he has matched and broken records for Manchester United.
His 17 first team goals have created a lot of expectation for what he may be capable of in his second full season as a professional.
Greenwood’s performances make him a strong contender for one of Europe’s most prestigious awards.
Tuttosport name him on the 60-man shortlist to win the 2020 Golden Boy Award, given to European football’s top young player.
Last year’s winner was Joao Felix, while it has previously been won by Kylian Mbappe, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba.

Always going to make the cut
The credibility of the Golden Boy Award depended on Greenwood making the final 60.
He was previously among 100 names on a long-list, which included United teammate James Garner, and his now former teammate Angel Gomes.
Both Garner and Gomes failed to make the cut of 60, although perhaps not surprising after not making much impact at all at first team level over the past few months.
Now Greenwood has to try and finish this season strongly to convince voters he deserves to win the award.
United’s failure to beat Sevilla could count against him, as there is some serious competition.
Top three finish?
Greenwood has a strong chance of finishing in the top three, but not for the first time, Borussia Dortmund present an obstacle.
Erling Haaland is the runaway favourite for the award after his exploits in the Champions League earlier this season.
And there is a certain Jadon Sancho in the mix too, who could double United’s chances of winning the award, if a deal can be done.

Greenwood has made major strides this year and if he does not win it this time around, he could still triumph in 2021 too.
Personal accolades will be the last thing on his mind right now after the pain of Europa League semi-final defeat, but he is on course to win many during what promises to be a glittering career.
