England and Marcus Rashford’s World Cup campaign ended with a wild 6-4 win against France, and the Man Utd star has made a promise now.

It was a frustrating World Cup campaign for Marcus Rashford, who won the starting place from Anthony Gordon after one game.

He proceeded to lose it after a poor game, never reclaiming it as England’s prospects of winning it all ended with him playing zero minutes in the semi-final.

Rashford has now promised something that bodes well for Man Utd, prompting a reaction from JJ Gabriel as well.

Marcus Rashford’s promise after World Cup exit

Rashford played this World Cup in the backdrop of immense scrutiny and transfer rumours about his club future.

Barcelona declined to buy him permanently, his release clause has expired, and he keeps rejecting lucrative offers to move.

Rashford stressed that he would wait for the tournament to finish before making a decision, with the prospect of reintegration at Old Trafford gaining strength.

He has now promised to come back as a better version of himself after this exit, with United wonderkid JJ Gabriel reacting.

He said [via his Instagram]: “One thing that’s guaranteed in football is disappointment along the way. The game against Argentina definitely hit hard, but we have to keep going and recognise just how far we’ve come as a nation.

“We’re close, so close but again it just wasn’t meant to be. Today, we responded in the right way with a performance against France that gave our fans something to smile about and secured a third-place finish.

“I’m incredibly proud to be part of this group. Keep believing in us. Our time will come. Now it’s time for me to rest, reflect, spend some quality time with family and friends, and come back a better version of myself. “

Gabriel sent his report with a raised hands emoji and liked the post, as Rashford remains a popular role model for youngsters at Carrington.

Rashford’s promise bodes well for Man Utd

Rashford has shown so far in his career that he is at his best when he has something to prove, and tends to relax when he has proved it.

With the frustrating World Cup campaign, his failed dream move to Barcelona, and questions over his quality, the stage is set for him to prove people wrong.

His message after the exit bodes well for Michael Carrick, who will welcome back a driven version of a player who has shown he can be world-class on his day.

If he can channel this frustration into a world-class season, it will be the best of both worlds, as Rashford can leverage his performances to move elsewhere, and United can benefit from a firing player.

United’s best signing of the summer might well be a player returning from loan, if things fall into place.
