Marcus Rashford is currently expected to return to Manchester United after England’s elimination at the 2026 World Cup.
England were beaten 2-1 by Argentina in the 2026 World Cup semi-final, meaning Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford will return after the third-place play-off against France on Saturday.
With Barcelona refusing to sign Rashford this summer, the 28-year-old is open to returning to United this summer and joining Michael Carrick’s squad for pre-season.
A sale for Rashford has not been ruled out though, and transfer interest has been pouring in from Turkey.

Marcus Rashford’s stance on joining Fenerbahce
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Rashford has “zero plans” to move to Turkey this summer.
Talks with Fenerbahce have been ruled out despite reports that the Turkish side were interested in his signature.
Romano confirmed that Rashford is returning to Carrington for pre-season training with United and that Michael Carrick is eager to work with him heading into 2026/27.
However, Rashford could still leave United this summer, but only if a top club comes in with a bid.
Rashford has a £40m release clause in his contract valid for any club to trigger other than Liverpool and Manchester City.

Reports of United wanting to sign a left winger have dimmed, and that is because Rashford is looking likely to stay put next season.
Rashford’s return will split supporters because of his blatant desire to stay at Barcelona this summer, but he will add some much-needed depth to the squad ahead of a busy 2026/27 season.

With Barcelona out of the picture after their signing of Anthony Gordon, it’s difficult to picture another top European club that could emerge as a potential destination.
Rashford likely won’t want to join a Premier League rival when the door is open for a United return, so the only realistic candidate is one of PSG or Bayern Munich.
