Marcus Rashford and Man Utd are now both saying the same thing about his future

Marcus Rashford is currently with England at the World Cup this summer, but looming are big decisions over his Manchester United career.

After a spectacular campaign for Barcelona, £26m for Marcus Rashford was the bargain of the summer, that is, until the Catalan side refused to pay.

Barcelona instead spent £70m on Anthony Gordon, who is categorically a worse player, leaving Rashford in flux and set for a return to Manchester United.

Rashford has been superb for England, putting himself in the shop window, while also making it so tempting to consider his potential return.

But how likely is this?

Marcus Rashford evidently does not want to return to Man Utd – There is no way back for him surely?!

What Manchester United are saying about Marcus Rashford reintegration

While Rashford has proven himself to still be a brilliant player, there are no guarantees that United will welcome him back this summer after how it ended last summer, and his wages not fitting into the current structure.

Speaking on Stretford Paddock, Chris Wheeler has now reported that both Rashford and United feel the same way about his return.

“I’ll be honest, when you speak to both sides, there doesn’t seem any great appetite for that to happen. and that’s mutual. It just doesn’t feel like anybody wants that.

“And the prospect of him coming back through the gates of Carrington somewhere, you know, whatever, two or three weeks after the World Cup finishes is something that nobody really wants.
“There’s not going to be another bomb squad, not least because there’s not enough of them.

“But also I think the whole culture of bomb squads and the legality of it. I think FIFA Pro have recently ruled on this that that you can’t now have a bomb squad. I think they’ve got it in people’s contracts that, they’ve introduced a law, haven’t they, that the contract gets ripped up if you put them in bomb squad. So, bomb squads, I think the thing of the past anyway.

“His mindset I’m told is he’s under contract.

“He’s coming back to, you know, he that’s what he’s going to do with be an expectation to be part of the squad and play if that’s the plan.

“But I just get the feeling from both sides that this would be so much easier if they found a new home for him.”

In short, Rashford will return to United, and the club will have him back in and around the squad. But generally, both accept that they would be better off not, should a move arise.

After the 8 Champions League group games, Man Utd will play 5 Premier League matches at home and 3 away. See the FULL breakdown…

United should be open to Rashford’s return

While there are a lot of hoops to jump through for this to work, United shouldn’t be so quick to write off Rashford.

The major issues came with Ruben Amorim, and there is no reason he wouldn’t be willing to rethink his situation under Michael Carrick in what feels like a much better squad dynamic.

With a new left winger somewhere on United’s list of priorities this summer, there isn’t a player United could realistically sign who is better than Rashford.

Rio Ferdinand has complimented Rashford’s maturity, which has sparked interest in wanting to see him return to United.

If Rashford is ready to contribute and put the past behind him, United need to take him back. On current form, Rashford could push United toward a title.
