Dean Henderson’s rise to prominence has been aided by a series of loan spells in the EFL.
He has spent time with four different clubs in total; Stockport County, Grimsby, Shrewsbury and Sheffield United.
As well as giving him a vital grounding, Henderson says that spell with Grimsby was the first time he featured on EA Sports’ FIFA franchise.
On England’s official YouTube channel, Henderson claims he was one of the worst players on the entire game when he was a loanee with the Mariners.

“Honestly, I remember when I was at Grimsby, I thought ‘oh yeah I’m gonna be on FIFA this year,'” said Henderson.
“So I looked at it and my rating was like 42 or something. It was absolutely terrible.
“But for me it was just about being on the game. When you’re a kid, you play against your brothers and that.
“To be an 80 this season, I’m really happy with that. Kick on from that now, next step 90. One day, 90.”

There was a glimpse of Henderson’s ambition there as well and a desire to be one of the top goalkeepers in world football.
Few could doubt his self-belief and determination, even if he is currently having to be patient behind David de Gea.
Henderson might have hoped to get a game on Tuesday night against Istanbul having played the game in Turkey, but de Gea got the nod after an impressive weekend display against West Brom.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has tipped him to achieve his ambition of a place among the game’s elite (ESPN), as well as stating Henderson wants to stay at Old Trafford beyond January as opposed to going out on loan.
