Manchester United have confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will play no part against Chelsea this weekend.
Ronaldo stormed down the tunnel at Old Trafford before full-time against Tottenham and left the stadium immediately.
Manager Erik ten Hag pledged to ‘deal with’ Ronaldo and he has now done so, banishing the striker.
Ronaldo will play no part in the Manchester United squad this weekend, the club have confirmed.

Manchester United released a statement via The Athletic confirming Ronaldo won’t be part of the travelling squad for Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge.
The statement read: “Cristiano will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday’s game against Chelsea. The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture.”
The report adds Ronaldo is expected to be made to train alone.
Whether there is a future for Ronaldo at the club beyond this, remains to be seen.
Ronaldo will want to play ahead of the World Cup, regardless of his own future, but this is no longer up to him.
He caused a major distraction from United’s impressive 2-0 win over Tottenham, repeating his actions in pre-season v Rayo Vallecano which Ten Hag reprimanded him for.
Former United striker Dion Dublin branded Ronaldo ‘out of order’, while former teammate Rio Ferdinand has recommended United simply release him from his contract for the sake of all concerned.
In the short term this is good United are taking decisive action over the matter, and the team looked better without Ronaldo in any case. His absence is not a loss this weekend.
